Active participation in the brewing industry’s ongoing innovations is a key goal for the company, such as the continued reduction of our ecological footprint, to minimise water and energy use.
The main directions of development are worked out by the R+D team working under the leadership of Dr. Beáta Vecseri. Their research focuses on processes that ensure the highest standards obtainable by using the local source of water from the Mecsek, domestic wheat and barley malt, and German hops.
The HUNBIO consortium is significant among these R+D projects, its members being the Cereal Research Non-Profit Ltd., the Szarvasi Agrarian Zrt. and the Hubai Eco-farm. The goal of the research, which is partly funded by the European Union, is to cause as little ecological burden as possible. The by-products – especially the spent grain – are valuable as ingredients of the human diet.
