The company considers its active participation in the innovation processes of the brewing industry to be its main goal due to the continuous reduction of its ecological footprint, during which water and energy consumption must also be continuously reduced.
The main development directions are being developed by the R&D team led by Hegyesné Dr. Beáta Vecseri. Their research is focused on processes that ensure the highest standards, while using the local water source from Mecsek, domestic wheat and barley malt, and German hops.
Among the R&D projects, the HUNBIO consortium, whose members are the Szeged Grain Research Institute, Szarvasi Agrár Zrt., and Hubai Ökogazdaság, stands out. The aim of the research work, partly financed by EU funding, is to ensure that the by-products of beer production in the domestic organic raw material base – with particular attention to beer lees – have as little ecological impact as possible, while these by-products become valuable components of feed and human food raw materials.
