PRESS RELEASE – The New Green Electric Power project has been implemented

The project "New Green Electric Power - The role of new green electric energy in the modernization of the material handling process of Pécsi Sörfőzde Zrt." has been implemented

Pécsi Sörfőzde Zrt. won a grant of HUF 15,705,473 with a support intensity of 60% in the application number GINOP-1.2.10-19-2019-00053 on the topic of supporting the technological modernization of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises within the framework of the Széchenyi 2020 program.
The project resulted in the expansion of the production process capacity - the expansion of the capacity of the internal material handling area and the satisfaction of the material handling demand arising from the new warehouse capacity created.

The smaller of the three purchased devices, the Traigo 7FBEST10 forklift, was placed in the newly designed basement warehouses of the Brewery, where the machine's small dimensions make it particularly suitable for handling materials in tight spaces, thus providing great assistance to warehouse workers when storing finished products in and out of the warehouse.

The selected Li-ion battery has sufficient capacity to perform material handling tasks and, due to its technology, is particularly suitable for operation in confined spaces and is also safe to charge.

From an ergonomic point of view, the forklift has also met the demands placed on it, it operates quietly, has a comfortable driver's seat, and the rational placement of the controls and their easy use make working with the machine enjoyable.

The larger, 1.6-ton machines (Traigo 8FMBK 16T) replaced our previously used gas-powered machines in production service and in the preparation of deliveries. The striking experience of the first days was that although work was going on in the factory area, there was silence in the factory yard, where the forklifts were driving. The electric forklifts did their job silently, causing no small joy to the residents of the apartment buildings built around the factory.

The machines are equipped with SAS Active Control Stabilizer, so that forklift drivers can carry finished products or packages more safely when transporting loads, thus reducing unwanted wrapping and breakage. Other modern electrical support systems, such as mast tilt limiter, automatic fork leveling or fork lowering prevention, have all shortened the duration of the given material handling activity, so that the conditions for safe load pickup and load transfer have improved.

Both machines are equipped with BlueSpot warning lights, both front and rear, which work very well even in daylight, informing the environment that a forklift is nearby. This also makes pedestrian traffic crossing the forklifts' traffic routes safer.

The use of modern electric forklifts shows progress in terms of cost savings in general operating costs and in terms of productivity. Considering 2,000 operating hours, the transition from a gas forklift to an electric forklift results in savings of HUF 318,750 in fuel costs and HUF 311,290 in service costs per machine. Linde's measurements, certified by TÜV-Nord, yielded the following results when loading the same truck: The loading time of the gas forklift was 35.8 minutes, while that of the electric forklift was only 28 minutes. The number of trucks that could be loaded per day by the gas forklift was 8, while that of the electric forklift was 10.

Environmental protection: electric forklifts do not emit harmful substances, the CO2 emissions of electricity generation are a fraction of the gas of a motorized forklift. Work safety: modern electric machines have stabilization systems, SAS active control stabilizer ensures smooth control of all activities, turning, starting, stopping. Safety-enhancing systems: operator presence detection system (travel and hydraulic function disabled if the operator is not in the machine), automatic parking brake, rollback prevention on ramps. Ergonomics: the larger seat and adjustable steering column allow comfortable operation, providing good visibility without leaning forward. The large operator's cabin allows comfortable work and entry and exit. The hydraulic functions with optimized spring force, operated by touch on the adjustable armrest, ensure perfectly ergonomic working conditions. The design, position and angle of the pedal reduce operator fatigue.

After the electric forklifts were put into operation, the amount of motor gas used by the Brewery and thus its cost were significantly reduced.

Actual project completion date: 2020.11.25.
