Nowadays, the use of aroma hops is flourishing in the beer industry

Thanks to the craft beer revolution, popular beer types, such as Pale Ale, APA, IPA, are based on aromatic hops with a diverse flavor, mainly from the United States. These hops, unlike German or Czech noble hops, lend citrus, tropical fruit, melon, and peach aromas to the beer. At the Pécsi Brewery, we like to use the popular Citra, Cascade, and Mandarina Bavaria hops to make our beers more exciting, but this year, for the first time, a special American hop, Amarillo, further enriches the flavor of our beers. Amarillo is made special by its very high myrcene content, which lends the beer an intense orange-citrus aroma, complemented by some floral, peach, and melon characters. This characteristic aroma is best achieved when added to the beer with cold hopping. Starting this summer, this hop will make Pécsi Premium Unfiltered Pils and BIO Pécsi Pale Ale even more delicious, and in addition to Cascade and Mandarina Bavaria hops, it will lend an even more intense, citrusy aroma to Pécsi Craft APA.
