8 countries entered the beer competition with about 300 beers. Among them were both beers specially prepared for the competition and those available commercially. The Pécsi Brewery entered with 5 different beers.
The beers were rated by a 62-member jury of trained tasters. As a result of the judging, less than half of the submitted beers received a rating.
The Pécsi Brewery received a bronze diploma with its Lager, Szalon and Barna beers. The Három rikályok beer received a silver diploma, one point short of the gold diploma in the fifty-point evaluation system. Only 9 beers won gold and diamond diplomas.
